School Rules
- Children/pupils shall arrive at school on time and may not enter the building before 8.15 am.
- Parents shall drop their children in the morning at the gate; they shall not enter the school.
- Children/pupils shall greet the teachers upon arrival to the school or the classroom.
- In case of sickness, the children/pupils’ parents shall inform the school on the same day between 8.00 and 8.30 am by phone: (+91) 44- 2451 2504 or by email: Fom@chennai.gis.com.de
- After a sick leave, the child/pupil shall remain at home for one more day without any sign of sickness before coming back to school.
- If pupils are absent without medical cause, the absence will be considered unexcused and noted in the class-register accordingly.
- Parents shall apply for a leave of absence minimum 1 week upfront. This request has to be in written form and includes the reason why the pupil will not attend class. For a period of maximum 3 days, the class teacher can give the permission. For a longer period (maximum 15 days) or days before and after school holidays, the principal has to be consulted. If the approval is given, the absence will be considered excused and noted in the class-register accordingly.
- Children/pupils shall adhere and abide by the internal school rules introduced to them at the start of the school year.
- Children/pupils shall show respect and cooperation and shall not run, shout and play rough on school premises at any time in order to prevent the risk of accidents and to ensure mutual consideration.
- The use of electronic devices such as cell phones, mp3 players, cameras, etc. is strictly prohibited on school premises.
- Knives, weapons of any sort and any other kind of dangerous object are strictly prohibited on school grounds.
- Valuables and large amounts of money should not be brought into the school. The school shall not be liable for any lost or damaged personal goods and items.
- Children/pupils are not permitted to leave the school premises during school time.
- Children/pupils may only use the phone in the secretariat in urgent cases.
- Chewing gum is prohibited inside school premises.
- A pickup authorization form should be submitted in advance in case if the child will be picked by anybody other than parents.
- When parents pick up their children in the afternoon they are responsible for their child/children as soon as he/she has been handed over to them by the teacher.
- Children/pupils shall be careful to neither damage property nor to soil walls, desks, and chairs.
- Lost property will be deposited in the “Lost and Found Basket” in the school front office.
- In case of any kind of emergency, all children/pupils shall follow the teachers’ instructions.
The School Rules enter into force on 1st of July 2012.
