Symposium- Innovation in Education 2013

On April 20th 2013, German International School Chennai conducted the Symposium “Innovation in Education” at The Leela Palace, Chennai. Several dynamic personalities made this event special by giving us insights in the latest educational approaches.

Visit of the Arignar Anna Zoological Park

Tigers, snakes and other animals are always a favourite topic for all children. Although we already visited the Zoo in the beginning of 2012, the children can’t get enough of animals and asked for another trip. Here are some impressions of the last zoo trip of German International School.

School Trip to Pondicherry

Grades 2 to 7 spent 3 days near Pondicherry and deeply enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel Mango Hill, the many interesting visits to Auroville, to a bakery and a cheese factory and even to a Buddhist school. The additional swim exams were very tough but everyone mastered it.

Second reading night at DSC

Books and board games, bed and a big breakfast with all parents in school, these were the conditions for a great second reading night.

Impressions of the month of February 2012

In some way, Chennai is blessed with its great weather throughout the winter time. Children can enjoy the water games, do outdoor sports and celebrate carnival without catching a cold. Find out more in our February gallery.

What a circus in kindergarten!

By the end of February, the kindergarten invited to join the circus. The parents were surprised to see their kids turned into wild tigers, fearless artists and funny clowns while the primary school students gave the musical background. It was a great show and in the end the rapturous applause by the audience and the self-made popcorn were a worthy reward.

Inauguration of the new facility in Palavakkam, 24.07.2011

Exactly one and a half year ago, on the 24th of January 2010, the German School Chennai celebrated its official opening. Reason enough to celebrate the time between and all the positive development but in addition, we were able to also celebrate the inauguration of our new campus!

About how to move a school in one day

The school staff used the student’s well-earned holidays to pack all the chairs and chalks, whiteboards and water toys, bobby cars and brushes and moved everything to our new building in Palavakkam. In one day! The exhausting work was worth it as you can see in the album.

Impressions from “Year One”

The first school and kindergarten year is nearly over and it is a pleasure to see all the progress the children made. We hereby share some the nicest moments with you.

First reading night in school

Friday, 13th, was a lucky day for us, we experienced our first reading night. We stayed in school for a whole night, read many books, played games and watched the stars. Hope we can repeat it soon!

Our amazing day in Dizzee World!

Close to christmas the school had a special present for the children – one day in MGM Dizzee World. Enjoy the pictures as they enjoyed the trip.
