Vision, Mission & Values
The overarching objective of the German International Academy is to impart a joy of learning to the children who attend the academy. This sense of enjoyment will bring many further benefits in its wake and will result in happy, fulfilled, high-performing children who are motivated and eager to learn.
This goal will be achieved via a range of individual stimuli to bring about the greatest possible degree of development in the abilities of the children.
We have a proven test procedure in place in order to ensure that we do full justice to the uniqueness of every single child. This process measures a broad spectrum of abilities or specific defining characteristics. According to the test results, teachers will design a special plan to support the child’s individual strengths. Curricular areas on offer include music, art, drama, mathematics, and sport.
This strategic approach aimed at fostering the progress of every child encompasses both individual attention and teaching. In addition to the areas of potential stated above we also address the development of personal and social skills such as confidence, problem-solving, group work and mutual respect.
Our teaching philosophy takes the necessary individual child quality standards fully into account by clearly distancing itself from the bureaucratic approach adopted in German schools.
In addition, the regular teacher training we conduct lays the foundations for high-quality delivery of our curriculum in the classroom. The particular emphasis we place on training for teaching staff has its
basis in the latest educational findings. They undergo training our teachers include methodology and didactics as well as practice in dealing with children exhibiting challenging behavior. Teaching methods are adapted on an ongoing basis to meet the potential of the children.
This type of quality assurance within the field of teacher training represents a high-quality form of teaching delivery which has been successfully deployed in adult education for many years and is now set to establish new benchmarks in the schooling system. This is an approach which provides your child with a unique opportunity in terms of the way in which knowledge is imparted. The needs of every child are addressed and an environment is created in which every child feels comfortable.
The German International School Academy strives offers a broad and challenging educational programme to students from diverse cultural backgrounds. We’re committed to inspiring students to achieve the highest standards of intellectual and personal development through a stimulating and comprehensive curriculum. Within a caring, respectful, multicultural environment, the academy is committed to instilling in each student a desire to learn, to take appropriate risks, and to accept challenges. The community is committed to developing students who are resilient and adaptable, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and disposition to continue their education and become personally fulfilled, interdependent, socially responsible adults.
Our mission is to develop children with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. Therefore we emphasize the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.
Our core model
Howard Gardner is a highly reputed professor for educational science and associate professor of psychology at Harvard University and associate professor of neurology at Boston University. It is his theory about multiple intelligences that we take in.
Research results of Howard Gardner proof that people have eight kinds of intelligence which differ from person to person.
Working with projects and global themes in our school we are able to face children with different tasks and activities. This kind of work enables every child to solve problems in its very own way. By carefully observing we find out which intelligence is very distinctive and which is not. Our teachers have the qualification to positively react by strengthening the strengths and supporting the weaknesses. We believe that this is the best way to form your child to a gifted and competent individual.
