“As a teacher – and especially as a teacher for special education – I see my duty in providing children with the opportunity to learn at their own rate, to develop at a speed adapted to their needs, to explore their environments and to find their place in school and later in society.
I can draw from a rich stock of experience in working with children of different cultural and ethical backgrounds. I gained a lot of experience from teaching in inclusive schools; from supervising and organising free time activities, assisting children with disabilities as well as from other possibilities I had to work with children. These children would have, amongst others, autism, Down syndrome, physical, mental and learning disabilities. These positions came with wide-ranging responsibilities and opportunities to work on many projects, including a number of educational campaigns that I really enjoyed and which sparked my interest in teaching and working more particularly with young children!
GISChennai provides respectful, caring and collaborative relationships with both, children and families, which are the vital foundation for a good school experience. For children with disabilities, GISChennai is a place where the idea of inclusion lives and grows!
It is a pleasure to be here in Chennai, India and I look forward to working in partnership with this community to ensure the best outcomes for our children because it is here that our youngest members take their very first steps. To be with them as they begin their educational journey, and gently guiding them along is indeed a great privilege!”
